Trains between Newbury and Bedwyn
Incident Details
A fault on a train between Newbury and Bedwyn means fewer trains are able to run. As a result, trains will be cancelled.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Customer advice:
The train used for the Newbury to Bedwyn service has broken down, and unfortunately a spare is not currently available. As a result the service is suspended.
Great Western Railway had planned to call some of our through train services at some of the affected stations, but due to a lineside fire further west, many are not going this way, so very few trains are running.
Therefore taxis are shuttling between Newbury, Kintbury, Hungerford and Bedwyn.
They are scheduled to depart Newbury and Bedwyn as close as is reasonable possible to train times, but the journey by road is much longer than that by rail, so arrival times at intermediate stations are only estimates.
