Incident Details

The Met Office are advising that temperatures today are expected to be above average for the time of year. Highs are forecast to exceed 30°C in London, and similar high temperatures are likely across central and southern England. This hot weather is expected to continue well into the week.

East Midlands Railway are experiencing some heat related issues affecting some of their train services. This means that some units have had to be removed from service. As a result of this, trains on various routes across the East Midlands Railway network may be cancelled in full or revised.

East Midlands Railway are advising customers to only travel today, or on Thursday and Friday, if your journey is essential.

Check before you travel:

You can check your journey today using the National Rail Enquiries real-time Journey Planner. The journey planner will be updated for the day after, the morning before.
